Services:
Office hours are
Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm. The prime focus is to enable
older people to remain independent as long as possible and to
prevent premature institutionalization. We conduct regional and
local advocacy, training, and technical assistance for and on behalf
of older adults. We also administer the state Elder Abuse Program
and Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) to persons
60 and older who meet the federal poverty income level.

Description of
Services:
The Information
and Referral Program links people in need with local agencies,
churches and organizations that can help. An extensive, up-to-date
file of agencies and programs that provide assistance with housing,
medical services, financial aid, transportation, food and other
critical services is maintained. An emergency food pantry, to meet
immediate needs, is provided when other pantries are closed.
One-time assistance for those needing emergency medications is also
available. When funds are available, FEMA will provide one month’s
rent to those who face eviction from their homes.
